This week we transition
Thinking about warmer days as we officially enter spring
First of all thank you to everyone for your support. I never knew how exciting gaining each subscriber would be - definitely better than an instagram heart. I hope you’ll continue to read, share with your friends and I will try not to let you down.
This week as we’ve officially entered spring I’ve got warmer weather on my mind, despite skiing in Colorado. As the weather begins to turn I start to think about how to prepare for chilly mornings, variable indoor temps, warmer afternoons and then lower temps when the sun goes down. To me the solution is layers: warm something up now and then wear it on its own in a few weeks.
For those of us on the east coast and the Mountains of course it’s time to shed those bulky coats and show off the favorite jacket that you can only wear for about 3 weeks a year. So make it count. While those in warmer climates get a little more wear from those mid and light weight layers, the temps are still changing and the sun is getting a little stronger so hopefully these are useful to you too!
Let’s get into the jackets. While Barbour jackets are timeless, and age so perfectly, there’s a slew of barn jackets in the world now! So if you’re feeling like a little refresh here’s a few options.
Rag & Bone Classic, neutral, versatile.
I swear this Ganni jacket is more versatile than you think. Leopard is a neutral after all. I have a leopard Barbour from a collab they did a few years ago with House of Hackney and it just keeps on giving!
For a luxe twist, check out this suede from Nour Hammour
A mid or heavy blazer can do wonders during this season, add a sweater under and it will keeping both warm and looking sharp.
Like this one from YSL
Or this from Anine Bing which comes in a verity of colors, and the shoulder pads are removable if you want a little less structure.
Love this as an outer layer or on its own! I’m really into this brand Aligne right now, cute current stuff and doesn’t break the bank.
And one more topper for variety!
A great every day jacket for a more masculine take on things. LouLou Studio. Love this with trousers or a jean and loafer.
For shoes, a loafer with a cute sock keeps those feet warm while it’s still a little chilly and then ditch the layer and go sock less when weather permits. Some of my fave socks brands are Maria La Rosa, Hansel from Basel and Exquisite J
I love this pair for Bally, they come in a ton of colors, I have the tan suede myself and can’t wait to take them outside.
These Alaia flats are sticking around another season and I can attest to how great they are. While I don’t have this pair I do wear the ones I have all the time. They are great way to jazz up an outfit without trying too hard and still be comfy.
This pair from Le Mond Beryl is also cute! Don’t sleep on the socks with either of these!
For the layers here are a few dresses, sweaters and tops that you can mix into your current wardrobe to get you through these clearly tough times. I know I look in my closet and struggle with what to wear now, a little splash of new always seems to make me inspired.
This dress would be great now with a boot and sweater until it can be worn solo!

For a knit layer, I love this punchy spring color
This sleeveless knit would be great under a blazer now and worn on it’s own later on.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for a short sleeve button front shirt. I’ll pair this now with an oversized cardi and then wear it solo a little later. Also it’s part of a set
This could be cute layered over a thin sweater now and worn on its own with white, blue or black jeans!
And no post for spring would be complete without a fresh white jean! Here’s one you can wear immediately.
Thanks for getting through this long one! There was just too much to share, and I could go on!!! So message me if you need some more inspiration.
Until next time,
Tini
